First Gig!

Pabodie's Drilling Apparatus is playing its first gig this Saturday night at The Syd in Sioux City.

Not sure the details, but I will be playing a half hour set around 8-8:30. Maybe.

New Songs

Just posted 2 new songs on Reverbnation for all of my fans to enjoy: "So Dumb" and "Aware."

They are both rough cuts, and I plan on re-recording them later for the album release, but I felt like releasing them as a teaser and to keep the hungry populace satiated, for now.

Back on Track

After a month of busy weeks, I will be returning to Open Mic nights at the Chesterfields.

I know, calm down, this is exciting news.

Updates on new album

I know, I know, why am I working on a new album when my first album isn't even out yet?

Because that is how I roll, baby. I am an enigma wrapped in a mystery dipped in a hot, steamy bowl of ambiguity.

I will plan a late Summer/early Fall release of the new album: Casanova Nights. The name is subject to change, because, well, see the enigma nonsense from earlier. However there is one concrete thing that will carry over to the actual release, the album art:

This is the official album art of my next release, unless I happen to change it.
In fact, this is all speculation and conjecture. Do not take this to heart, at all.

Album Release Date

October 31, 2012. This is the official release date of my album Drastic Wildlife Removal. 
I was being fairly ambiguous with the release date before, but that was because I didn't have any actual idea of when I was going to release it.

Hopefully now that I have set an actual date it will kick myself in the ass to get this started.

The album will be for sale at midnight on Halloween. I will hopefully have all the kinks worked out and it will go off without a hitch.

The price on the website says 5 dollars, now, but it may change depending on costs.

Maybe physical CD's will be more and digital downloads will be only 5 dollars.

Again, I will have this all figured out before Halloween.

Also, new songs in the works. I am working on my second album already. Four songs are in the process of being written as this is being written.

Update

Long Time with no news. This doesn't mean I'm down and out, just overworked and strung out. Music is still happening, ideas are forming for new songs and I have unlimited ideas on where to take this music. I have only limited time, though. I am re-recording a few songs on Drastic Wildlife Removal: "Inside" and "Dialect." They sound rushed and not at all what I have envisioned. More news soon.

Well here we go.

Ok everyone, here are some updates on the newsfront for your face holes. I have completed the demos for all of my songs, and I will be mixing them down here in the next couple of days. What does this mean exactly? The album is nearing completion. I will still have a pre-release for anyone who wants one and I will try to figure out something here for you soon, superfans. Also, I have a new link set up on the side of the blog for easy subscription to the mailing list. It will keep you up to date with news and any other special offers I have for you. I will continue to work on the site and the album for the next week or so, and I will be contacting a few places to see if I can get a free show set up or something. Who knows?

Udates and Whatnot

Hello,

As I reach ever closer to the ending of my original recordings, I have come to the conclusion that I should probably seek outside help on this album. After much soul searching, I have concluded that I will pre-release my album to special groups of individuals for listening and notes. I will be releasing information on how to contact me about this offer here soon.

Other notes:
Recording is going well and open mics continue to be average experiences.

Update

So I've decided to change up the song order of Drastic Wildlife Removal. The song "Because" is no longer on the album. It wasn't feeling right so I dropped it and in its place I am putting an expanded version of "Werewolf."

Is anyone going to be upset? Probably not.

News.

This is the beginning, or at least I hope so.

I have the album art finished, and the music almost done.

I have an account set up to accept any cashflow from sales of the CD in the unlikely event that anyone buys it. There is even a store page to allow people to give me money for it.

Maybe I could get a gig set up soon. Who knows? I don't even know what kind of equipment I would need.
