Holy shit its been over a year since I last posted.

Well I finished a ton of music. A six piece 72 minute epic album cycle called "The Book of Balance."

Its not good at all.

I have no idea

Not entirely sure what my plan is anymore. Considering everything that has happened in the last few weeks, that shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.

Right now I'm just releasing shit all Willy nilly. There is a single playlist of various songs on sound cloud. Figured that was a better way to organize the music than having full albums. Band camp still has full albums though, because it seems more like an album oriented format.

Not sure what to do about physical albums. Maybe I'll stick to digital for now....

The plans

So I got an idea. I have a gig coming up next week and a album about to drop.

I'm going to record the live gig and then release it with the new album. Maybe only make like 5 of them or something

As of right now, initial recordings are pretty much finished. I'm going to spend the next few weeks recording still to see if anything else pops up.

Go through the songs I have see if any of them don't fit and the tracklist. All of that jazz.

Maybe I'll post a song.

The ever changing directions of this useless ship

So, I am constantly changing my mind about how I want to go about this business of being a musician. I was going to retire the PDA brand after this next album. But now I've changed what album is coming next. It is called "waster." the period is intentional.

I have the art work and a partial idea of the tracklist. I don't have all of the tracks recorded or even thought of yet but I have an idea of what I'm going for.

The reason I was going to take a break from PDA was that it was getting stale and I was bored. A tape recorder was recently aqcuired, though, and that has resparked my flame for now. In the future I still hope to work on hip hop. Maybe just incorporate it into PDA.

Who knows. I sure as shit don't.

Album news

This will be the final album (for now) from this incarnation of Pabodie's Drilling Apparatus. It feels as if I cannot take this weird folky punk rock thing any further, so I'm going to push it as far as possible. What that means is still sort of undecided. It will be more ambitious, multi part songs, but not necessarily verse chorus verse. Longer songs, for sure. I want it to be more improvised. Almost nothing will be repeatable. There are some elements that will be planned, but aside from the instruments and some of the more... pop-punk-folk moments that I normally dabble in, this will be essentially a free form jazzy excersize in overdubbing, drum loops, fuzzy electric guitar and spastic fingerpicking. Beyond that, it is all up in the air.

Yeah...

The cover art is going to change as well.

I'm going to try and get some outside talent to record spoken word passages.

We will see how they feel about it.
