So, here we are.
Nothing new has happened. A side project was started and has stalled... not sure what will come of it: nothing probably.
But, luckily (or unluckily, depending on how you feel about it) it has reinvigorated me into trying different things within my own music. Sadly, I do not have a drum machine anymore. It was not fulfilling my needs as an artist. I wish to own a simple drum kit in the future, but we will see. The full band sound I was hoping for was, as expected, scrapped. On the other hand, I am trying a new approach to my music, in that I am just going to do whatever the fuck I want to at the time.
This means, if the song is 1 minute long, so be it. If it is 3 chords over 8 minutes? As long as it feels right, it is in. Will this bring in more listeners? No. Will this alienate anyone from ever listening to me? Probably. But it is liberating as an artist to just do it until it, whatever it is, is done. In that mindset I have created songs I think are unique and my own.
Here is the tracklist for the new album (in no certain order):
On My Way Again
Song of Rhyleigh
Out to Sea
Belong...
Useless Machine
Awake Forever
Waiting for Malachi
Thinkin...
Nothing Wrong
Change Everything, Become Everything
Old Videos (Tell Me Who I Am)
For now, the title is still "Casanova Nights." But that may change. I do have some album art I am working on, though, but I might just stick to the old design, or scrap it all and do cardboard sleeves. Who knows? I sure as shit don't.
Well, until next time,
PDA

New News for Old People.
This is a quick summary of what I have been accomplishing during these last few weeks:
Nothing.
Now here are some things I've been working on for the past few weeks:
I magically acquired a gig that I will unceremoniously ruin with my style. It takes place May 11th, 9:30 pm at the Syd. All the information is on the "Shows" page.
There are, at my last count, 6 songs I have a good idea of what I want to sound like. It is weird, I only have 4 more songs to make before I release another album ( I have a weird thing where I like 10 songs per album), and I didn't realize it until I sat down and counted. So, that means this album will be happening soonish, before the new year at least, but not before I can get my "studio" set up again. I will be messing with my drum machine and bass so hopefully I will get a full band sound this time around. If it becomes too much of a hassle, or starts taking too much time, I will probably scrap the idea. But a full band sound is definitely the goal for the third album.
Speaking of full band sound, I have been playing with the idea of corralling some musicians for a backing band. I might be able to wrangle a few more shows that way, but then again I haven't even tried wrangling shows in the first place-- I just sort of fall into them. This idea is still far off in the future.
I might throw out an EP of a some songs. I have artwork I want to use, and I'm not doing anything. No one will buy it. Why not?
Anyways, that is all I have.
Peace,
Pabodie's Drilling Apparatus

New Songs
Just posted 2 new songs on Reverbnation for all of my fans to enjoy: "So Dumb" and "Aware."
They are both rough cuts, and I plan on re-recording them later for the album release, but I felt like releasing them as a teaser and to keep the hungry populace satiated, for now.
